beGateway January Updates: New Connectors, Brand Exclusions, and More

We are pleased to share a detailed overview of our latest beGateway enhancements introduced this January. Our team has been working diligently to improve the overall experience for both merchants and PSPs, focusing on new integrations, flexibility in payment flows, extended analytics, and increased security. Below is a comprehensive breakdown of the key updates.

1. Five New Payment Connectors

For Card Payments

  • Sends (Europe): Offers seamless card transactions for European regions.
  • Winteca (Europe): Another reliable connector for card payments across Europe.

For Alternative Payment Methods (APMs)

  • Sends: Supports Bank Transfer and Blik for broader payment options
  • TransFi: Also integrates Bank Transfer and Blik, expanding alternative payment coverage.
  • OxGate (Checkout Egera): Focuses on Blik for quick, secure local payments.

These new connectors have already demonstrated solid transaction performance and will allow merchants to diversify their payment methods. Our connector list is continuously growing, enabling users to process payments in multiple geographies and currencies.

2. New Option: Excluding Specific Brands on the Payment Widget

In response to user feedback, we have implemented an option for excluding certain card and wallet brands from the payment widget when generating a token. Even if these brands are activated for a shop, they will not appear on the widget if excluded. This update gives merchants more granular control over the payment experience, ensuring they can refine offerings to match their business strategy or local regulations.

3. Transaction Webhook Notifications for PSPs

We have introduced a system-level enhancement that allows additional webhook notifications to be sent to a PSP-specified URL, covering all or specific shops. This feature is enabled at the PSP level upon request and is particularly valuable for analytics, real-time monitoring, and customized reporting. By receiving notifications in a format suited to their internal systems, PSPs can gain deeper insights into transaction flows.

4. Bot-Attack Prevention Solution

To boost security and reliability, we have implemented RPS (requests per second) limits for status requests at both the shop and system levels. These limits help mitigate potential overloads and timeouts in the event of bot-driven attacks. Our development team will continue refining this logic and adjusting thresholds based on evolving threats and user feedback.

Summary and Next Steps

These updates reflect our commitment to delivering a robust, adaptable, and secure platform for online acquiring. By adding new connectors, offering brand exclusion options, extending analytics via webhooks, and enhancing security measures, we aim to streamline payment processes for merchants and PSPs alike.

Our focus remains on optimizing every aspect of beGateway — from integrations to transaction handling and fraud prevention. We look forward to bringing you more improvements in the coming months. If you have questions or feedback, feel free to reach out to our team.
